Our current coaching staff includes:
Brian has been a part of X-Statics since its founding, and currently serves as a Director and Board President. With over 30 years of experience in coaching, reffing, and playing volleyball, Brian brings great expertise to our program. He is IMPACT, CAP I, II, and III certified, as well as being a member of the Junior Olympic Boys All Tournament Committee and the Junior Olympic Volleyball Awards Committee. Brian owns and operates a private health club in Fort Morgan with his wife, and serves as Director for the Morgan Volleyball Association Adult Leagues and Founder of the Colorado Junior High State Volleyball Champioships. Brian was recently named varsity coach for Fort Morgan High School.
Brian has coached a variety of ages for X-Statics, most recently coaching the 2013 X-Statics 18's team, which rose from 32nd to 20th of 58 teams in the RMR 17's division. Under Brian's directions, his teams have an RMR Championship, an RMR 3rd place, and Brian has coached four All-Region players. We are X-Static to have Brian on our staff!!
Jerry also has been with X-Statics since before it was X-Statics! He began playing USAV in 1978, and has been IMPACT certified and a USAV official for 20+ years. In 1988, Jerry began his extensive coaching career, floating from middle school to high school, and since 1996 Jerry has been the head coach for the Weldon Valley Lady Warrior volleyball program. In 1995, Jerry founded his own club program, Northeastern VBC, and in 2001 joined the crew that would eventually morph into what is now MCJA X-Statics.
Jerry's 2000 Weldon Valley High School team took the Colorado 1A State Championship title, and he was named the Colorado Denver Post High School Coach of the Year that same year. In 2001, he was named CHSAA All State Coach, and has enjoyed coaching for X-Statics since it opened its doors. Again in 2012, Jerry coached the Weldon Valley Lady Warriors to another Colorado 1A State Championship title. Jerry has attended numerous coaching clinics over the years, including USA Gold Medal Coaches Clinic, Reebok Gold Medal Coaches Clinic, University of Northern Colorado Coaches Clinics, and University of Nebraska Coaches Clinics, just to name a few! We are X-Static to have Jerry's experience on our team!!
Lana comes to us with over ten years of volleyball experience. After playing in high school and college, she realized her passion for the sport and took up officiating under CVOA, which led to coaching. She is IMPACT certified, and serves as our own X-Statics webmaster. Lana works as a Certified Public Accountant in Fort Morgan, and still enjoys playing in the Brush! and Fort Morgan city volleyball leagues. Lana and her husband welcomed their first child in January 2011, and another in June 2012. Currently, Lana volunteers her time to run the administrative side of X-Statics Club Volleyball.
Lana's most recent coaching efforts included the 2010 18's X-Statics Thunder team, as well as coaching middle school and high school teams off and on since 2002. She coached for the 2003 Platte Valley Broncos CHSAA 3A State Champion team. We are X-Static to have Lana on board!!
Michaela Strand - more info & bio coming soon...
We welcomed Jared to the X-Statics Coaching Staff in 2009. After serving as an assistant coach for X-Statics for two seasons (of which both teams finished top 10 in their respective RMR age divisions!), we are excited to have Jared as a head coach for our program. Jared comes with an extensive volleyball background, having played competitive indoor & outdoor volleyball since age 5. Jared played middle and outside hitter positions for the EVA USAV Men's Volleyball team, including a trip to the USAV Adult Nationals in Dallas, Texas. Jared has coached five All Conference Players and two All State Honorable Mention Players in Colorado.
Currently working as a Vertimax Jumping Program Trainer and CVOA official, Jared enjoys spending his "spare" time playing volleyball and wake boarding with his family at the lake. We are X-Static to have Jared as a part of our Coaching Staff!!
X-Statics Volleyball Club coaches are subject to the rules and regulations of USAVolleyball, Rocky Mountain Region Volleyball, as well as X-Statics Volleyball. Click here to read USAVolleyball's 2012 Junior Club Personnel Code of Ethics. Additionally, Club personnel (i.e. director, coaches, assistant coaches, team representatives, etc.) are subject to mandatory background screenings every two years, as well as other membership rules that apply to all RMR members.
X-Statics Volleyball Club happily accepts coaching applications throughout the year, but in order to be considered for a head coaching position, applications need to be submitted by October 31st. The Club's policy is that most coaches will need to provide a year of service as an assistant to one of our current coaches prior to being allotted a team on their own in order to allow for a more cohesive coaching staff.
